Obtain hazard information (be sure to ask about safety) Check the prevalence of infectious diseases and whether or not vaccinations are required Check if there are any infectious diseases prevalent in your destination country Depending on the country you are traveling to, vaccinations may be mandatory When receiving vaccinations, there are often a limited number of medical institutions that offer them, and you may need to make an appointment in advance. Hepatitis A Twice over 2 to 4 weeks Approximately 5 years If you will be staying in the host country for more than 6 months, it is recommended that you receive a third dose 6 months after the second dose. Hepatitis B Twice over 4 weeks A third shot 20 to 24 weeks later 2 to 5 years   Rabies Twice over 4 weeks A third shot 6 to 12 months later Additional vaccinations are required every 1 to 2 years to maintain immunity Even if you have been vaccinated, if you are bitten by an infected animal, seek medical attention immediately as treatment is necessary. Japanese encephalitis Twice over 1 to 4 weeks A third shot one year later 4 to 5 years   Yellow fever Once 10 days after innoculation to 10 years Vaccination is not available at regular medical institutions. Please contact the nearest quarantine station.   3.Things to keep in mind when you return home If you have any symptoms such as fever, cough, or gastrointestinal problems when you return to your country, please report them to the quarantine station when you enter the country. Please pay attention to your physical condition for about two months after you return home. If you experience any changes in your physical condition after returning, please contact a medical institution and receive instructions on how to handle the situation. When contacting a medical institution, be sure to inform them of your travels and how long you stayed. If there is a possibility that you are infected with a disease that can be transmitted to others, such as Ebola, please contact one of the Health Centers listed above and follow their instructions before visiting a medical institution.
